Privacy.
This policy explains how DEFEX Engineering handles personal information. It is written with regard to the Australian Privacy Principles.
What is collected. When you contact the practice — through the enquiry form or by email — the practice collects the details you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, the suburb of the building, and the content of your message. When engagements proceed, further information relevant to the building and the work is collected in the ordinary course of providing engineering services. The hosting and email providers used by the practice also keep basic technical logs, such as IP addresses and request times, as part of running the service securely.
Why it is collected. Information is used to respond to your enquiry, to prepare proposals, and to deliver and administer engagements. It is not used for any unrelated purpose.
What is not done. Personal information is not sold, and it is not shared for anyone else's marketing. This website runs no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics; it calls only its own server. Information is disclosed to others only where it is necessary to deliver an engagement, or where the law requires it.
Where it is held. Information is stored with reputable hosting and email providers, and is kept only for as long as there is a genuine business or legal reason to keep it.
Access and correction. You can ask to see the personal information the practice holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or raise a privacy concern, by emailing andrew@defex.engineering. The practice will respond within a reasonable time.
